![]() She was the offspring of other BYB AKC dogs. It was genetic Even though Bailey was AKC registered, she was not breeding material. ![]() My aunt thought it was caused by something Bailey had gotten into, because she had a knack for running off. My aunt kept one puppy, Shadow, and we took one home as well, Shiloh.Ī short time later, Bailey developed seizures. She found a stud, and Bailey gave birth to something like 15 puppies My aunt charged around $300-$400 for each puppy, depending on sex, and they all went to (hopefully) loving homes. Bailey was an AKC registered dog- beautiful, friendly, a great dog. I'll share with you the story of my aunt's golden retriver, Bailey. I know it's tempting- fun to have cute puppies around, easy money, whatever the reason. That said, please try to stand up to your dh about breeding them again. ![]() I know "oops" happens, and bravo to you for finding all of the resulting puppies homes But listing mutts as "designer breeds" is nothing more than a scam to make a quick buck People shell out $$$ for an animal they could easily find in a shleter for much less money, with equivical breeding lines.Īmy, your dog is adorable. I'm glad your mutt is a great dog, mutts often make great pets. Just because someone has given them a cute name dose not make them a breed all their own. Labraboodles, doxie-pins, coakapoos, ect, whatever, these are NOT breeds, they are NOT hybrids, they are MIXED BREEDS aka MUTTS. Its the golden rule "if you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all". If you want to comment on something comment on someone who just gets rid of them, not the ones you actually give them a chance. A doxie-pin is not considered a mutt, they are considered a breed, all on their own, and they are amazing dogs! I have one and she is great with my young kids and other dogs! Most people who accidentally breed their dogs and just take the puppies to the pound, this women actually found them good homes.
